Gazprom, CNPC sign main conditions of western route gas supplies
MOSCOW, May 8 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom and China’s CNPC on Friday signed an agreement on the main conditions of gas supplies via the western route to China.
The sum of investments was not disclosed.
Gazprom Deputy CEO Vitaly Markelov said earlier that the supplies will start after 2020 if the companies sign the contract until the end of 2015. The target capacity is 30 billion cubic meters annually, he said.
The two companies have also sealed a memorandum on strategic partnership.
In May 2014, Gazprom and China’s CNPC signed a U.S. $400 billion contract to supply up to 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year via the Sila Sibiri pipeline.
